Eberechi Eze’s Championship form for Queens Park Rangers has seen him linked with Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace.
It would be a little premature to label Eberechi Eze the new Stan Bowles, but QPR’s famous number ten shirt is certainly proving a nice fit.
The 20-year-old has started all 26 of his side’s Championship games this season, with Steve McClaren obviously believing that the Greenwich-born talent is the real deal.
But Eze’s future at Loftus Road came into question on Tuesday when the Daily Star (8 January, page 47) reported that Crystal Palace were keeping close tabs on him.
Palace are looking for potential attacking reinforcements as Roy Hodgson looks to guide them away from the relegation zone, and Eze’s dribbling ability and vision would add some class and craft to an often toothless front line.
But Sky Sports has shed new light on the situation 24 hours later, suggesting that Eze could be staying at QPR for the time being.
It is understood that Crystal Palace rate the former Wycombe Wanderers loanee very highly but believe he is not yet ready to break into their first-team.
So it seems that Palace will put their interest to one side for now, unless they are willing to sign Eze and loan him back to Loftus Road.
