Crystal Palace’s Pape Souare only played a minute of Premier League football under Roy Hodgson in 2018/19, but is he returning to Ligue 1?

Crystal Palace defender Pape Souare has been spotted at Marseille’s training ground as speculation intensifies over a potential return to France, as reported by Wiw Sport.
The Senegal international has been a Palace player for the last four-and-a-half years, moving to Selhurst Park from Lille for a fee of £3.4 million, according to the Guardian.
Souare was initially a key player but he has barely played since suffering serious injuries in a car crash back in September 2016.
By the time the 28-year-old returned after a long spell on the sidelines, Dutch flyer Patrick Van Aanholt had already established himself as the club’s number one left-back.
Souare played just one minute of Premier League football in 2018/19, coming on the opening day victory away at Fulham.

And, according to Wiw Sport, the experienced full-back could be looking to revive his career back in Ligue 1. Souare is on the lookout for a new club and travelled to Marseille’s training ground this week, potentially with a move on the cards.
Rudi Garcia’s side already have two left-backs in the shape of Jordan Amavi and Hiroki Sakai, however, so first-team football would hardly be guaranteed at the Stade Velodrome.
