Crystal Palace look to have beaten rivals Newcastle United and Swansea City to the potentially crucial signing of West Ham United’s Diafra Sakho.

Diafra Sakho has not started a Premier League game for West Ham all season, but it seems that a number of rival Premier League clubs are willing to take a punt on the out-of-favour centre-forward.
The Sun stated this week that Newcastle United had a loan bid rejected by the Hammers, while Everton boss Sam Allardyce, who brought Sakho to England from Metz in the summer of 2014, is keen on a reunion at Goodison Park.
But Crystal Palace have now emerged as the front-runners to sign the striker this month. And it appears they could even sign him on the cheap.

Because The Mail states that West Ham value Sakho at around £15 million but are willing to accept a lower fee up front with add-ons to follow once the season comes to an end. It is understood that Palace have made a £10 million offer, but that could be enough to secure the deal right now.
The Senegalese striker may have fallen out of favour at West Ham after going almost full Odemwingie when trying to engineer a move away in August.

But he would be an important player at Palace, for whom Christian Benteke is the club’s only fit centre forward. The Belgian has also scored just one league goal all season for Roy Hodgson’s side.
And with fellow relegation rivals Newcastle and Swansea City set to miss out on Sakho, time will tell whether this £10 million deal could be crucial in the battle to stay up at the end of the campaign.
