Adam Masina looks set to swap Serie A side Bologna for the Premier League, but will he go to Crystal Palace or London rivals West Ham United?

Pape Souare is unlikely to be a Crystal Palace player by the end of the month with the Sun (15th January, page 52) stating that he is set to sign for Newcastle United on loan until the summer.

So, with Jeffrey Schlupp also likely to be for the foreseeable future, Palace have thrown themselves right into the mix to sign a new left-back this month.

And it appears that they are hedging their bets with a number of approaches. The Sun (January 19th, page 59) stated that they are interested in Al Ahly’s Tunisian international Ali Maaloul (below) but there is also another player on Roy Hodgson’s radar.

The Sun reports that Palace are keen to sign Adam Masina from Serie A side Bologna and have already made a bid. It is understood, however, that Roberto Donadoni’s team have rejected the offer as it falls short of their £15 million valuation.

You can expect Palace to try their hand again, however, with the 24-year-old keen on a move to England this month.

The former Italy Under-21 international Masina emerged through Bologna’s academy and has been one of the most impressive full-backs in Serie A over the last few seasons, combining a buccaneering attacking style with solid one-on-one defending.

The Sun reports that London rivals West Ham have also made a bid for Masina that has been thrown out by the Serie A team.

West Ham reportedly see Masina as a replacement for Aaron Cresswell, who has been linked with a move to Everton.
