Crystal Palace, Southampton and Burnley all seem to be fighting over the same man.

According to French publication La Depeche, Toulouse defender Christopher Jullien has his heart set on a move to the Premier League this summer with Crystal Palace, Southampton and Burnley understood to be in talks with the 25-year-old.

Jullien has spent the last two years in Toulouse after arriving from Frankfurt in 2016. And it is reported that he is valued at around £9 million.

The former France U20 international started 30 Ligue 1 games last season as Toulouse survived by the skin of their teeth, beating Ajaccio in the relegation play-off. Jullien is renowned for his strength in the air and is a major threat from set-pieces, scoring five goals in France’s top flight over the last two seasons.

Jullien would be a solid addition on paper for a Crystal Palace side who have been crying out for more depth at centre-half for some time now. Mamadou Sakho and Scott Dann both spent long spells on the sidelines with injury in recent months while Damien Delaney has moved to Cork City in Ireland.

Southampton, meanwhile, are still on the lookout for Virgil van Dijk’s successor while Burnley have little back up for James Tarkowski and Ben Mee.

The Clarets will need more depth with Sean Dyche preparing to lead them into Europe.
