Andre Ayew is expected to leave Championship side Swansea City but could he really end up in the Scottish Premiership with Celtic?

Along with the likes of Alfie Mawson and Lukasz Fabianski, Andre Ayew looked like one of the players most likely to jump ship once Swansea City’s relegation from the Premier League was confirmed.
And, as expected, HITC have learned that the South Wales outfit are indeed resigned to losing the Ghanaian international this summer, just six months after he returned for a second spell at the Liberty Stadium from West Ham in a club-record £18 million deal.
It was understood that Ayew was closing in on a move to Fenerbahce. But it seems that he could be offered the chance to remain in Britain by an unlikely source.
Football Ghana is claiming that Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have expressed an interest in signing Ayew before the transfer window slams shut in three weeks. It is understood that Brendan Rodgers’ side are weighing up a last-minute bid to beat Fenerbahce to his signature.

This would be one of the biggest shock deals of the summer and a massive statement from a Celtic side who have endured a quiet transfer window while Old Firm rivals Rangers have brought in a whole host of new signings.
Our sources told us that Swansea are keen to slash costs and could therefore let Ayew leave either on loan or on a permanent deal. If Celtic want to sign the former Marseille attacker for the long haul, they could be forced to break their transfer record just a month after paying £9 million for Odsonne Edouard.
