Dunajska Streda striker Bayo has emerged as a top target for Scottish Premiership champions Celtic in the January transfer window.

Celtic might have had an offer rejected for Vakoun Issouf Bayo this week but they are not giving up just yet.
The prolific Dunajska Streda striker has emerged as a rather left-field target for the Scottish Premiership champions, whose attacking options have been restricted by the loss of Moussa Dembele and the absence of Leigh Griffiths.
The Express reports that the Slovakian outfit had rejected Celtic’s initial offer of £1.7 million, but Brendan Rodgers’ side are set to make a new bid worth £2 million in the near future.
It is understood that Parma and Rapid Vienna are also keen to sign Bayo but he would prefer a move to Scotland as he aims to take his career to the next level.
The 21-year-old Ivorian has scored 18 goals in 21 games in all competitions this season.

And Dunajska’s sporting director, Jan Van Daele, confirmed to The Mail that The Hoops had made an offer for Bayo earlier in the week with talks set to take place over a potential January deal.
“We confirm we have received an official offer from Celtic of which we acknowledged receipt. We are planning to start the negotiation process in due course,” he added.
The Express reports that Celtic are still hopeful of striking an 18-month loan deal for PSG forward Timothy Weah.
