Scottish Premiership giants Celtic are desperate for a goalkeeper with Newcastle United youngster Freddie Woodman the latest on Brendan Rodgers’ radar.

There looks set to be one goalkeeper arriving at Newcastle United before the window slams shut and one potentially leaving St James’ Park, too.
And Dubravka’s arrival could pave the way for the highly-rated Freddie Woodman to leave Tyneside on a temporary basis.

It is understood that Woodman has an agreement in principle to return to Scotland with Aberdeen, a year after he joined Kilmarnock on a short-term deal. But Celtic have made a late move to bring the 20-year-old to Parkhead instead.
The Hoops are desperately searching for a goalkeeper with time running out. Craig Gordon is expected to be out for up to three months, leaving the veteran Dorus de Vries as the only senior shot-stopper in Brendan Rodgers’ squad.
But time will tell whether Celtic have left it too late to seal a deal for Woodman with Aberdeen apparently close to signing him on loan.

The Croydon-born prospect has played just once for Newcastle since starring in England’s Under-20 World Cup winning side this summer, featuring in the FA Cup third round win against Luton Town.
Celtic have signed a young goalkeeper from Newcastle before, landing Fraser Forster initially on loan in 2010.
