Long-serving right-back Mikael Lustig is out of contract next summer but will he stay at Scottish Premiership champions Celtic?

Mikael Lustig’s future at Celtic has been the subject of much debate in recent months, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.
The Daily Record has reported that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers wants to sign a new right-back in the January transfer window, suggesting that the Northern Irishman was preparing for life without the 31-year-old Swede.
Lustig might have won the Scottish Premiership in each of his seven years at Parkhead since joining from Rosenborg in 2011, but he has been the subject of plenty of criticism of late.
Some are suggesting that he has become Celtic’s weak link, particularly in European competition.

Reports from Fotboll Direkt state that Celtic have finally made a decision at last about Lustig’s future. And, in what could be seen as a shock move, it is being claimed that Lustig will in fact be offered a new contract.
AIK have contacted Lustig in an attempt to lure the Scandinavian defender back to Sweden, but it is understood that he will enter talks with his current employers next week with a fresh deal likely to be put on the table.
It remains to be seen, however, whether Lustig is eyeing a new challenge as he enters the autumn of his career.
The veteran told the Scottish Sun earlier in the week that he was ‘100 per cent sure’ that he would return to his homeland eventually.
