Premier League newcomers Fulham have reportedly made a big-money offer to sign Celtic’s Scottish Premiership champion Dedryck Boyata

Celtic would love to hang on to Dedryck Boyata this summer but that could be easier said than done.

It is well documented that the centre-back is out of contract in a year and the Scottish Premiership champions want to tie him down to a long-term deal.

So far, however, their attempts to get Boyata to commit his future to the club have been less than successful, with the Belgian World Cup star facing an uncertain future with just days to go until the transfer window slams shut.

Ambitious Premier League newcomers Fulham have been linked for the last few weeks. And it appears they are stepping up their interest with reports from the Times claiming that they have made a bid of £9 million.

And, although Celtic obviously want Boyata to stay, the Daily Record points out that they could struggle to turn down a big-money offer late in the transfer window. After all, £9 million is a lot of money for a player who would, as it stands, move on for free in less than a year’s time.

Fulham have already signed Alfie Mawson from Swansea City and are close to landing Callum Chambers on loan from Arsenal.

But the Record understands that Boyata remains a priority target as Slavisa Jokanovic aims to set up his side for success in the Premier League.
