Edson Alvarez is expected to leave Mexico for Europe with Scottish Premiership champions Celtic linked alongisde Inter Milan, PSV and Ajax.

Celtic are still interested in signing the Mexican international Edson Alvarez but are set to face competition from Inter Milan, according to Nacion Deportes.
At the age of just 21, Alvarez has already earned 22 caps for his country and looks set to be a key part of an exciting future for El Tri, alongside the likes of Hirving Lozano and Erik Gutierrez.
But the youngster’s future at his current club, Liga MX outfit America, appears to be up in the air with Alvarez heavily tipped to follow his many compatriots into Europe.
Nacion Deportes claims that Celtic, who will need to sign a new defender when Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic leave, are interested while Italian giants Inter Milan are also keen to sign him in the summer.
A move to Holland with Ajax or PSV, where Lozano and ‘Guti’ are currently plying their trade, is also a possibility.

Record claimed back in December that Celtic were keen to sign Alvarez, who played for Mexico in last summer’s World Cup, and it seems they are still keen to lure the Mexican all-rounder to Glasgow.
Alvarez has certainly impressed his new national team coach Tata Martino with the former Barcelona and Argentina boss claiming this week, via OneFootball, that he was ready to join a big European club.
“If I had to choose a player who is ready to make the jump, it would be Edson Álvarez,” he said.
