Leicester City nabbed Brendan Rodgers from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic last week.

Lee Congerton could be set for a reunion with Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City, as reported by the Sun (5 March, page 51).

Rodgers returned to the Premier League a week ago, taking over from Claude Puel at the King Power Stadium after walking away from Celtic in controversial fashion. Assistant coaches Chris Davies and Kolo Toure also followed the Northern Irishman in bidding farewell to Parkhead.

And the Sun believes that Congerton (top, second from left) could be the latest behind-the-scenes figure to swap Glasgow for the Midlands.

It is claimed that the Hoops’ Head of Recruitment is set to walk away with clubs from America, Germany and Belgium all lining up to offer him a fresh start.

But Leicester could also be willing to hire the 45-year-old, who also worked with Rodgers during his time in charge of Chelsea’s reserves.

Congerton could reportedly replace the highly-rated Eduardio Macia, who is a target for Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux.

While many Celtic fans were disappointed to see Rodgers go, Congerton’s departure is unlikely to have the same effect.

A man who has largely panned during his time at Sunderland for a series of ill-fated signings, Congerton has been responsible for such flops as Marvin Compper (below), Lewis Morgan and Charly Musonda north of the border.
