West Ham United are reportedly interested in a shock deal to sign the former Aston Villa flop Carlos Sanchez before the summer transfer window shuts.

It didn’t go so well for Carlos Sanchez last time he was playing Premier League football in claret and blue.
The Colombian international featured for Aston Villa between 2014 and 2016 and was unfortunately part of a side who finished bottom of the Premier League and were relegated in humiliating circumstances. To make matters worse, Sanchez never seemed to fit in in English football with his lack of pace and a tendency to give the ball away hardly helping matters.
So sudden reports from The Mirror (live blog, 8pm) that West Ham United want to bring him back to the Premier League from Italian outfit Fiorentina has certainly raised eyebrows.
And Football London has now provided further information. It is reported that Sanchez is likely to arrive at the London Stadium on loan, rather than on a permanent deal, and he could be used more as a squad player than a regular starter.

He will be competing for a place with the likes of Mark Noble and Declan Rice at the base of Manuel Pellegrini’s midfield.
Sanchez has 88 caps for his country and appeared at this summer’s World Cup, where he became the second fastest player ever to receive a red card at the tournament when using his hand to block a goal-bound shot in the 2-1 defeat to Japan.
