Ivan Santini has reportedly become Cardiff City’s striker target after the Premier League side missed out on Nantes’ Emiliano Sala.

It seems that Emiliano Sala will not be joining Cardiff City after all.
The prolific Nantes striker was reported to be on his way to South Wales in January when L’Equipe claimed that Cardiff were willing to pay a club-record £18 million fee. But, after the Ligue 1 side rejected their offer, Neil Warnock admitted to the BBC that the Bluebirds could be forced to look elsewhere.
And it seems that Cardiff have now identified an alternative for the £25 million-rated Sala – and their latest target will certainly come a lot cheaper.
According to the Mail (3 January, page 49), the Premier League newcomers have made a £4 million bid for the Anderlecht target man Ivan Santini, who has scored 11 goals already this season for the Belgian giants.

Santini, a 6ft 3ins Croatian international who should fit perfectly into Cardiff’s direct style of play, is understood to be discussing a potential contract worth £2 million a year.
A skilful player who is far more than a battering ram, Santini only moved to Anderlecht last summer from Caen but could now be set for the biggest move of his career in the midst of a terrific run of form.
