Nottingham Forest have released Armand Traore and he is set to join Championship rivals Cardiff City to link up again with manager Neil Warnock.
It was certainly a busy deadline day at Nottingham Forest.
But while a three new players arrived at the City Ground in the shape of Ashkan Dejagah, Adlene Guedioura and Costel Pantilimon, manager Aitor Karanka also did not wait around to ship out a few forgotten men.
Centre-back Matt Mills and winger Mustapha Carayol had their contracts terminated and they will be followed out the door by left-back Armand Traore.
But the 28-year-old should not struggle to find a new home because the report adds that Traore is expected to put pen to paper with Championship rivals Cardiff City almost immediately.
Manager Neil Warnock is a big fan of the five-time Senegal international, having coached him during a previous spell at QPR, and wants him to provide competition for Joe Bennett at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Cardiff have a good chance of reaching the play-offs as things stand, so signing an experienced Championship performer like Traore could prove to be an excellent decision with a daunting fixture list on the horizon.
Whether Forest will end up ruing the decision to strip down their squad with the club hardly safe from a relegation dogfight, however, remains to be seen.
