Caleb Ekuban and Jay-Roy Grot managed just two Championship goals between them for Leeds United and could now bid farewell to Elland Road.

With Leeds United going all out to bring a top class centre-forward to Elland Road, it was always likely that there were going to be casualties.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga has already returned to Hamburg after a mixed loan spell in West Yorkshire, and reports in the Yorkshire Evening Post suggest two players who also arrived in the summer of 2017 are set to follow the German out the exit door.
The report claims Caleb Ekuban and Jay-Rot Grot are likely to leave before the transfer window shuts in early August.

Between them, Ekuban and Grot made 40 Championship appearances in 2017/18 but scored just a goal apiece; a damning reflection of their struggles in England and of Victor Orta’s transfer strategy.
Ghanaian Ekuban arrived from Italian side Chievo Verona after a loan spell in Albania and struggled with injuries initially. And when fit, Ekuban’s finishing proved erratic although his commendable work rate earned him a few admirers.
Grot, meanwhile, signed from Dutch second division side NEC Nijmegen and soon found himself stuck in the reserves after a series of disappointing substitute appearances.

The YEP adds that Leeds have made Derby County’s £11 man Matej Vydra their top target while Abel Hernandez, a free-agent after leaving Hull, is also on the radar.
Either one would be a massive upgrade on Ekuban and Grot.
