Championship Boro could lose another defender to Burnley with Sean Dyche’s side reportedly watching him for England U18s.

Burnley scouted Middlesbrough defender Nathan Wood as the England U18s beat Australia 3-2 on Friday night, according to the Northern Echo.
For the third time in just over a year, a Boro defender has been linked with a big-money move to Turf Moor.
Burnley broke their transfer record to sign Ben Gibson for £15 million in the summer of 2018 while Sean Dyche’s side failed with an £8 million bid for youngster Dael Fry a few weeks ago.
Now, teenager Wood has registered on their radar. The Sun claims that Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are interested but it is the Clarets who are at the front of the queue with a £9 million offer being prepared.

Needless to say, that is a lot of money to gamble on a player who has made just one senior appearance for his current club. But Burnley are doing everything they can to minimise the risk, including watching Wood in the flesh over the course of 90 minutes.
Nottingham Forest starlet Alex Mighten was the star of the show on Friday, firing a hat-trick past the Socceroos, but the Echo claims that Burnley were present at De Montfort Park to watch Wood, who started the game in his favoured centre-half position.
