Rodri is on his way to Bristol with Lee Johnson’s side eyeing a striker but can he succeed in the Championship after struggling at Sheffield Wednesday?

Bristol City could end their striker search with the signing of Spanish free agent Rodri, according to the Bristol Post, despite his previous struggles in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday.
The Robins have been scouring the market for free agents ever since they lost top scorer Benik Afobe to a season-ending injury. And after links with Gary Hooper and Wilfried Bony came to nothing, it seems that an unattached Spaniard could be on his way to Ashton Gate.
The report claims that Rodri has arrived in Bristol and could even feature in a friendly against Torquay United today as manager Lee Johnson mulls over whether or not to offer the 29-year-old a second chance on English shores.
The former Spain U21 international has had a nomadic career to date, playing for ten clubs in three countries before being released by Granada in the summer. Rodri turned out for Sevilla and Barcelona at the start of his playing days before struggling during an ill-fated loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday in 2012/13.

Rodri scored just once for the Owls, against Birmingham, with the Steel City outfit understandably deciding against signing the misfiring centre-forward on a permanent basis.
He did hit double figures in recent seasons with Cordoba and Cultural Leonesa, however, and Bristol City will be hoping that he is capable of making the difference in England’s second tier too.
