Brighton and Hove Albion are reportedly battling for Liverpool bench-warmer Simon Mignolet.

Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in signing Simon Mignolet this summer, according to the Mirror.
The Belgian international goalkeeper has been heavily tipped to walk away from Liverpool after failing to make a single Premier League appearance during the 2018/19 campaign.
Alisson Becker is firmly established as Liverpool’s number one these days and, with Jurgen Klopp’s side apparently on the lookout for a new back-up, it seems that The Reds are already preparing for Mignolet’s departure.
And the Mirror claims that Brighton have joined Crystal Palace in eyeing an £8 million deal for the 31-year-old, who moved to Anfield six years ago after a stellar spell between the sticks at Sunderland.

Brighton might even have an advantage over their bitter rivals Palace too. ESPN claims that Crystal Palace’s valuation of Mignolet falls well short of Liverpool’s £8 million demands – though it remains to be seen how much The Seagulls are willing to pay.
But is Brighton really the right move for a goalkeeper who is desperate for more first-team action? Australia star Matt Ryan is a big favourite at The Amex and Mignolet should be fully aware that moving to the South Coast would hardly guarantee him a starting role.
