Brighton and Hove Albion were reportedly on the verge of bringing FC Zurich striker Raphael Dwamena to the Premier League last summer

Eleven months ago, Brighton and Hove Albion’s pursuit of Raphael Dwamena ended in disappointment.
The Sun reported that The Seagulls were due to sign the striker from FC Zurich for a fee of £10 million. But, at the last minute, they decided to cancel the deal after it was discovered during his medical that Dwamena was suffering from a heart problem.
But one year on, it seems that Brighton’s hopes of a deal for the Ghanaian international striker are not dead in the water just yet.
Football Ghana is reporting that Chris Hughton’s side have rekindled their interest in Dwamena, though they are now facing competition from Lokomotiv Moscow and Espanyol. The La Liga side need a replacement for talisman Gerard Moreno, who has returned to Villarreal.
It is understood that Dwamena (far left) could be a lot cheaper than he was last summer with Football Ghana claiming that his current market value stands at around £2.2 million.

This is despite the fact that he scored an impressive 13 goals and set up 12 more in all competitions last season.
Brighton survived fairly comfortably in their first ever Premier League season but could do with a bit more firepower in attack. Glenn Murray is 34 years of age while record signing Jurgen Locadia is yet to really find his feet.
