Jonas Bager could reportedly be on his way to the Premier League with Graham Potter’s Brighton and Hove Albion.

Jonas Bager could be on his way to Brighton and Hove Albion, with the Sun claiming (6 June, page 56) that the Denmark defender is likely to join Graham Potter at The Amex.

Potter was announced as Brighton’s new manager in late-May, leaving Swansea City to replace Chris Hughton on the South Coast, and The Seagulls have been linked with a number of players since then, from Mbwana Samatta to his former Liberty Stadium stars Oli McBurnie and Daniel James.

But a deal could soon be in place for 22-year-old Bager, a centre-back who is capable of playing anywhere across the back four.

The Danish U21 international rose through the ranks at Randers in his homeland but joined Belgian outfit Union Saint-Gilloise on June 1.

Interestingly, Brighton chairman Tony Bloom was announced as Saint-Gilloise’s majority shareholder in May last year and the Sun believes that the connection between both clubs could see Bager wearing the blue and white stripes in the near future.

Saint-Gilloise paid around £1.7 million for Bager and it remains to be seen what Brighton are prepared to offer to bring him to England.
