Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton is a big fan of Aston Villa teenager Keinan Davis and hopes to lure him to the Premier League in January.

It has been quite a remarkable couple of years for Keinan Davis. Just two years ago, the striker was playing non-league football for Biggleswade Town but, after making his name in the Championship with Aston Villa and forcing his way into the England Under-20 squad, the teenager is now being tipped to move to the next level already.

According to The Sun, Brighton and Hove Albion are lining up a £3 million bid for Davis this month.

It is understood that Seagulls gaffer Chris Hughton has been tracking Davis since he became a regular starter in the Aston Villa side at the start of this season. Bournemouth have also sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old regularly but Brighton are set to make the first move.

The report adds that Hughton believes Davis could even become a full England international within the next few years and feels that The Amex is the ideal environment for the youngster to fulfil his potential.

Davis has become the first-choice striker at Aston Villa after impressing Steve Bruce with his hold-up play and aggressive leading of the line, although his tally of two goals in 20 Championship appearances shows that his finishing could do with some work.

But it is less than two months since the former Stevenage talent signed a new contract to commit his future to Villa Park until 2020.

Brighton, then, will probably have to pay far more to tempt Villa into the sale of arguably their most exciting youngster.
