Genk star Sander Berge could be heading to the Premier League with Brighton and Hove Albion interested along with Sheffield United.

Brighton and Hove Albion have made a club-record £28 million bid for Genk midfielder Sander Berge, according to The Mirror (8 August, page 65) with Sheffield United also a fan.
The Seagulls have broken their transfer record twice already this summer for Leandro Trossard and Brentford striker Neal Maupay. And while fans will no doubt be taken aback by the fee required to bring Berge to The Amex, this is a 21-year-old with vast potential.
The 12-time Norway international was arguably the best player in Belgian football last season, starring in the centre of the park as Genk sealed the Jupiler League title.

Energetic and technically gifted, he would add real star quality in Graham Potter’s engine room too while helping the former Swansea boss transform Brighton from pragmatists into purists after the rather dour final months of Chris Hughton’s reign.
The Mirror adds that Sheffield United are interested in Berge too while Serie A giants Lazio are also keen. Should Chris Wilder win the race, the Scananavian youngster would fit in perfectly alongside the likes of John Fleck and Oliver Norward, who are tasked with controlling the tempo and distributing the ball into the wide areas.
But Brighton are at the front of the queue after making a £28 million bid, one that Genk will surely struggle to turn down.
