Yannis Salibur’s long association with Guingamp could end this month with Premier League rivals Brighton and Crystal Palace interested.

Yannis Salibur could finally move to the Premier League this month.

One year ago, the Frenchman was the subject of an £8 million bid from Hull City. And now, 12 months on, he is once again on the radar of a clubs hoping to avoid the drop from the top flight.

It is understood that bitter rivals Crystal Palace and Brighton are going head-to-head for the Guingamp winger with just hours remaining in the January transfer window, as reported by the Sun.

The 27-year-old is a skillful and versatile attacker who can play anywhere across the front line but is most comfortable on the right wing. He has scored three goals and set up one in 16 Ligue 1 appearances this season for Antoine Koumbare’s side, but this represents a rather dramatic drop off from his tally over the last two seasons.

So it remains to be seen whether Salibur’s price-tag has dropped somewhat from the £8 million Hull were prepared to offer in January 2017.

The former France under-19 international would however offer creativity and pace to either Brighton or Palace; two sides who could do with a little extra spark in the final third.

With just 17 to their name, Brighton are the lowest goal-scorers in the Premier League this season with Anthony Knockaert – the reigning Championship Player of the Year – failing to make much of an impact. Salibur, then, could be seen as an upgrade.

But if he signs for Palace instead, he would offer an alternative to Andros Townsend, who is yet to find form consistently since his former England boss Roy Hodgson took over.
