Bristol Rovers striker Matty Taylor is reportedly the next name on Brentford’s list.
Sam Winnall’s move to Sheffield Wednesday is not the end of the world for Brentford with West London Sport reporting that they will turn their attention to Bristol Rovers goal machine Matty Taylor instead.
The Sun claim that the Owls have convinced 25-year-old Winnall, Barnsley’s top scorer this season with 11 Championship goals, to make the short trek across Yorkshire by offering him a lucrative £18,000-per-week contract, four times his pay packet at Oakwell.

However, while Carlos Carvalhal toasts a new signing in Wednesday’s bid to reach the play-offs for the second year running, Brentford have suffered a blow in their attempts to replace out-going talisman Scott Hogan.
The Telegraph claim that West Ham will make a £15 million bid for the in-form forward after the Bees rejected their initial £12.5 million offer, but it seems inevitable that Hogan will be leaving Griffin Park in the coming days.
And it appears Brentford are already preparing for his departure by approaching Bristol Rovers for a striker who has found the net 73 times in 125 league appearances for the club.

West London Sport claim that Taylor is the Bees’ next target after he was heavily linked with the London club in the summer.
Nonetheless, Hogan’s seemingly imminent departure and Winnall’s move elsewhere are both bitter blows in a season of frustration for Brentford.
