Crystal Palace reportedly like the Southend United midfielder Yearwood but is he heading to the Championship instead with Brentford.

Dru Yearwood’s impressive performances for Southend United in League One mean it seems only a matter of time before he makes the step up to a bigger division.
The Sun (30 October, page 59) reports that Crystal Palace have been keeping a close eye on the 18-year-old midfielder, with the club’s sporting director Dougie Freedman given the inside track thanks to his connections at the third tier team.
Freedman turned out for the Shrimpers towards the end of his playing career.
But Crystal Palace are not the only capital club who have been impressed by Yearwood. TEAMtalk report that Brentford are looking to pip the Eagles to a January deal, with Southend looking likely to lose their prize asset in the New Year.
Yearwood has made 29 appearances for Southend since making his debut a year ago.

TEAMtalk adds that Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is looking to bring in a number of young talents from the Football League, with money seemingly tight at Selhurst Park these days.
Interestingly, Palace are understood to be interested in the Brentford winger Ollie Watkins, according to Sky Sports, so the two London clubs could be going head-to-head quite a bit in the coming months.
