Report: Galloway eyes Everton loan exit after dreadful Sunderland spell

Brendan Galloway struggled badly at Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion, so does he still have a future at Premier League club Everton?

Brendan Galloway is in desperate need of a fresh start.

The 22-year-old Everton defender has seen his reputation plummet after two dreadful loan spells in the last two seasons. Galloway managed just three Premier League starts for West Brom, losing Tony Pulis’s trust after giving away a penalty in a game against West Ham United and returned to Goodison Park with a month left of the 2016/17 season.

But things did not go much better at Sunderland either. The former MK Dons youngster moved to the Stadium of Light, joining a club hoping to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

Instead, Galloway struggled badly and made just seven appearances in the Championship as Sunderland finished bottom and were relegated to League One.

So, according to the Liverpool Echo, the versatile defender has come to the conclusion that he needs another temporary spell away from Goodison Park next season in order to get his stalling career back on track.

Galloway, who had looked like forcing his way into Everton’s side under Roberto Martinez, has not played for the Toffees for over two years. And the 2018/19 campaign, wherever he ends up, has a real make or break feel to it.

Galloway surely cannot afford another dreadful spell away from Everton and hope to have a future at the Merseyside giants.
