Charlie Adam appears to have no future at Stoke City so a move to Championship neighbours Bolton could do the midfielder a world of good.
Charlie Adam was expected to leave Stoke City this summer but it seems that finding a new club is proving rather difficult.
According to The Telegraph, Rangers had mulled over re-signing a player who left Ibrox for Blackpool back in 2009, only to turn their attention to younger targets.
The Sun (29 July, page 63) reported that Stoke had offered Aston Villa the chance to sign Adam too but Steve Bruce’s team decided against offering the 32-year-old a fresh start. And with just 10 days until the close of the transfer window, time is running out.
But fortunately for Adam, there is one club who do want to sign him.
The Sun (19 August, page 60) claims that Bolton Wanderers are keen to bring the former Scotland international to the Macron if Stoke are willing to loan him out before the end of August.
It is understood that Bolton boss Phil Parkinson wants a creative midfielder and Adam, blessed with superb set-piece delivery and an excellent range of passing, fits the bill.
The one-time Liverpool midfielder hasn’t played a second of Championship football for Stoke under Gary Rowett and made just five Premier League starts last season too so he certainly has a point to prove.
