Jay Fulton has struggled for opportunities at Swansea City and would hope to feature far more regularly at Bolton Wanderers.
After three years failing to get a sniff of first-team action, the 2016/17 season represented a step forwards for Jay Fulton. The midfielder made 11 Premier League appearances but those opportunities largely dried up once Paul Clement was brought in at the Liberty at the start of the year.
Therefore, despite featuring in Swansea’s opening day draw with Southampton, it would be no surprise if Fulton was to find a new club before the transfer window slams shut.
And Bolton News report that Bolton Wanderers has emerged as a potential destination. It is understood that The Trotters are interested in signing the 22-year-old, son of former player Steve, on a season-long loan.
A neat and tidy passer, Fulton would be the second young midfielder to arrive at the Macron Stadium on loan from a Premier League club this summer.
Josh Cullen, a highly-rated talent owned by West Ham, will spend the upcoming season in Lancashire.
However, Bolton fans may be concerned about the lack of experience in central midfield after the likes of Jay Spearing, Liam Trotter and Mark Davies all left the club at end of last season despite The Trotters returning to the Championship via automatic promotion.
Yet, a loan move to the second tier could be the making of Fulton, who has struggled to live up to expectations since arriving in South Wales as a highly-rated youngster from Falkirk.
