Pape Souare has played just one Premier League game for Crystal Palace this season and has been linked with a move to Championship side Bolton Wanderers.

Well, that didn’t take long.
Just 24 hours after The Sun (6 January, page 63) reported that Crystal Palace left-back Pape Souare could be on his way to Bolton Wanderers on loan, the same publication reports that the deal has gone up in flames.
The Trotters were understood to have made an approach to sign the 28-year-old on a short-term deal until the end of the season, hoping that the FA were willing to lift a transfer embargo in order to make the signing possible.
But Souare’s injury nightmare has continued at the worst possible moment. The Sun (7 January, page 45) is now reporting that the former Lille defender has now undergone an operation on a shoulder injury which could rule up out for at least three months.
Understandably, this means that he won’t be joining Bolton any time soon to help Phil Parkinson’s side in their Championship relegation battle.

Souare has endured a dismal time at Selhurst Park since suffering a broken leg in a car crash in 2016 and has made just three first-team appearances all season.
Palace paid £3.4 million to sign Souare four years ago (The Guardian).
