Scottish Premiership club Rangers reportedly want Curtis Tilt – but so do Championship duo Ipswich Town and Queens Park Rangers.
Rangers turned their attention to Curtis Tilt after Millwall made it very clear that Jake Cooper, who was the subject of a £3 million bid from Ibrox, would not be sold this summer, according to The Mirror.
Tilt, who plays in League One for Blackpool, was allegedly seen as a cheap alternative given his £1 million price-tag. And it is understood that Rangers watched him action during The Tangerines’ 2-0 friendly win against Burnley, where the 26-year-old performed very impressively up against the Welsh international Sam Vokes.
But latest reports provided by the East Anglian Daily Times suggest that Rangers are in danger of missing out on another defensive target.
Blackpool are supposedly willing to lower their £1 million valuation of Tilt as interest increases from both England and Scotland. But this is not necessarily good news for Steven Gerrard and Mark Allen.
The EADT claims that Ipswich have already had two bids rejected, the latter standing at £600,000, and they are expected to make another offer as The Tractor Boys and Blackpool edge ever closer to agreeing a fee.
Furthermore, the report adds that there is real interest from another Championship side in Queens Park Rangers.
So Rangers, the Glasgow-based version, could genuinely be at risk of missing out on both Cooper and Tilt as things stand. With Ipswich preparing another offer, now is the time for the Scottish giants to take things up a notch.
