Wolverhampton Wanderers centre-back John fired his side to the top of the Premier League 2 table and could now be on his way to the Championship.
Cameron John is yet to make a single first-team appearance for Wolverhampton Wanderers, but that has not stopped him from becoming a gossip column regular in recent months.
The Mail reported that the 19-year-old centre-back was a player in demand during the summer transfer window but Wolves rejected a £500,000 bid to sell him to a Championship club, preferring to keep John in their U23 squad instead.
But the report adds that there is still plenty of interest with a number of scouts watching John, as Rob Edwards’ reserves moved top of the Premier League 2 table with a 2-1 win against Manchester United recently.
And it is understood that Wolves could be tempted to loan out the teenager with John seemingly ready to make the step up to senior level.
The Birmingham Mail has identified one of the clubs that are keen to sign the Englishman, who can also play at left-back and has a contract at Molineux until 2020.
It is claimed that Blackburn Rovers have sent scouts to watch John in action, so a temporary move to Ewood Park could potentially be on the cards.
Tony Mowbray has usually paired Darragh Lenihan with Charlie Mulgrew at the back this season, but the addition of John would give the Rovers boss depth and versatility in his defence.
