Championship outfit Leeds United will reportedly move for La Liga midfielder Ruben Pardo if they are promoted to the Premier League.
Marcelo Bielsa wants to bring Real Sociedad midfielder Ruben Pardo to Leeds United this summer, according to El Gol Digital.
Leeds are just four games away from returning to the Premier League after 15 years away, and the report claims Bielsa will be rewarded with a substantial transfer budget should he succeed in bringing top flight football back to Elland Road.
Ruben Pardo, a 26-year-old play-maker who has spent his entire career at Sociedad except a short-term loan spell at Real Betis in 2017, has emerged as one of the top targets.
A versatile and technically gifted midfielder, Pardo has started just 10 La Liga games this season for La Real and El Gol Digital suggests that he could be allowed to leave. Bielsa, meanwhile, would apparently be ‘delighted’ to bring the former Spain U21 international to West Yorkshire.
This is perhaps no surprise, given that the former Argentina and Chile coach was keen to sign Pardo during his infamously short-lived stay at Lazio back in 2016, according to Corriere dello Sport.
