Liverpool’s Marko Grujic left the Premier League for the Bundesliga last summer and has been outstanding for Hertha Berlin.
Bayern Munich have set their sights on Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic with the Serbian shining in the Bundesliga at Hertha Berlin, according to the Mirror (6 March, page 60).
A £5.1 million addition from Red Star Belgrade three years ago, Grujic was the first signing made by Liverpool in the Jurgen Klopp era but he has been forced to wait to prove himself at Anfield.
With the likes of James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum already ahead of him in the pecking order, Grujic was forced to leave on loan last summer when Fabinho and Naby Keita arrived from Monaco and RB Leipzig respectively.
But the 22-year-old has caught the eye with a superb spell at Hertha Berlin. Coach Pal Dardai says Grujic is the best midfielder he has seen in many a years, the Mirror adds, while Grujic has recently been nominated for the Bundesliga’s Rookie of the Month award.
It is claimed that his performances have even caught the eye of Bayern Munich. The German champions are set to embark on a huge squad overhaul with young players like Serge Gnabry and Benjamin Pavard set to provide the cornerstone for the club’s future.
Fortunately for Liverpool, Grujic told ESPN last month that he still wants to prove himself at Anfield and has little interest in leaving just yet.
