Barrie McKay only joined Championship outfit Nottingham Forest from Scottish Premiership side Rangers last summer.

Nottingham Forest fans couldn’t believe their eyes when they read that the City Ground club had landed one of Scotland’s most exciting talents last summer for just £500,000.
But maybe it was too good to be true after all. Because Forest might have discovered now why Rangers were so keen to let Barrie McKay leave on the cheap.

After an excellent start to his career in the East Midlands, where McKay produced four assists and scored two goals in his first six games, the 23-year-old quickly fell out of favour once the more pragmatic Aitor Karanka took over from his former Rangers boss Mark Warburton.
McKay started just twice in the last four months of the season.

And the Daily Record believe that McKay could agree terms in the coming days in what would represent one of the most surprising deals of the summer. It remains to be seen, however, whether Forest will make a profit on a player who once looked such a shrewd investment.
