Newcastle United reportedly want Connor Rennison but he is already training with League One chasers Barnsley.

Barnsley look set to win the race for Hartlepool United youngster Connor Rennison despite Premier League and Championship clubs expressing an interest in the coveted talent, as reported by TEAMtalk.
Rennison is one of many Hartlepool prospects linked with a summer move to the Football League, alongside midfielder Josh Hawkes and defender Luca Murphy, the latter having left the club earlier in March after failing to agree a professional deal.
TEAMtalk reports that Middlesbrough, Newcastle United and Barnsley’s Yorkshire rivals Leeds United are all interested in snapping up Rennison, who is free to leave Hartlepool at the end of the season as he does not have a senior contract with the Non-League outfit.
But the Tykes are leading the chase. Rennison is currently training with the promotion-chasing League One side and Daniel Stendel’s side are now set to offer him a deal.

This would be a fine signing for a Barnsley side who have made a habit of signing talented young players before selling them on for profit, from Connor Hourihane to Sam Winnall.
And beating Leeds to his signature should only make the deal even sweeter.
