Yiadom is reportedly on Swansea City’s radar – but Barnsley could make Blackburn Rovers pay for releasing the teenage left-back.

It’s impossible not to admire Barnsley. The Southampton of the Football League, Paul Heckingbottom’s side are stripped of their star players almost ever transfer window but, thanks to their esteemed scouting system, find a way to replace the seemingly irreplaceable.
Since last summer, Alfie Mawson, Conor Hourihane, James Bree and Sam Winnall have all departed Oakwell and, according to The Sun, Andy Yiadom could be the next to leave for bigger and supposedly better things.
The newspaper claims that Swansea City are interested in the 25-year-old who, just a year after being plucked from League Two Barnet, has been excellent at left-back under Heckingbottom.
Although Martin Olsson ranks as one of the most inspired signings of the January window, after arriving from Norwich City, Swansea City manager Paul Clement is lacking quality in reserve. Yiadom, renowned for his sturdy defensive awareness, could represent an astute addition to the Swansea squad.
The flipside, however, is that Barnsley may once again be forced into the market to replace one of their key players. And wouldn’t it be typical of The Tykes to once again offset the loss with an up-and-coming star before developing them into a player worthy of English football’s second tier.

The Sun reports that Barnsley are mulling over a deal for Welsh youth international Ben Williams, the 18-year-old having recently been released by Blackburn.
And while the teenager is nowhere near the finished article, Heckingbottom’s trust in youth players and penchant for improving the talents at his disposal means it would be no surprise if Williams was snapped up by Barnsley as a possible Yiadom replacement.
