Will Premier League newcomers Fulham seize their reported chance to sign Argentine striker Vietto from 2014 La Liga champions Atleti?

It seems a long time now since Luciano Vietto was scoring goals for fun at Villarreal and being labelled the ‘new Sergio Aguero’.
It has all gone a little bit wrong for the Argentine striker since his £18 million move to Atletico Madrid in 2015. Despite reuniting with Diego Simeone, who managed him at Racing Club in his homeland, Vietto has struggled badly to make an impact with the Colchoneros.
Vietto has scored just one La Liga goal in 25 games for Atletico and loan spells at both Sevilla and Valencia proved to be distinctly forgettable. So that is the risk Fulham are taking should they decide to take up the option to sign the 24-year-old on a temporary deal.

According to The Mail (12.11pm), Vietto is surplus to requirements at Atletico and the Europa League winners have offered Fulham the chance to sign him on loan for the 2017/18 season. As it stands, it is unknown whether The Cottagers are willing to play ball.
Slavisa Jokanovic’s side are perhaps lacking natural goalscorers and Vietto is a poacher by trade, even if his recent statistics are poor to say the least.
Should he find his form again at Craven Cottage, Fulham could thrive with a player who scored 20 goals in 48 games for Villarreal up top.
