Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce needs to replace John Terry at the Championship side and is reportedly keen on ex-Leicester defender Robert Huth.

Robert Huth is a free agent after leaving Leicester City and would be a fine addition for a Championship club looking for a solid, experienced centre-half – like Aston Villa for example.
The departure of skipper John Terry has left a gaping void in Villa’s squad that manager Steve Bruce will be desperate to fill as soon as possible, although that is easier said than done with a financial meltdown making it difficult for the Midland giants to bring in reinforcements.

But latest reports provided by the Birmingham Mail suggest that Bruce will hand Tommy Elphick one last chance to prove his worth before pressing ahead with a deal to sign the giant German, who won the Premier League title with both Chelsea and Leicester.
It is understood that Elphick, who joined Villa for £3 million from Bournemouth in 2016, is the current favourite to replace Terry. This is despite the fact that he has barely had a look-in under Bruce and was even farmed out on loan to Reading in January.

But the report adds that Bruce is keen to give the 30-year-old an opportunity to stake his claim in pre-season.
If Elphick does not impress, only then will Villa make Huth a priority.
