CJ Hamilton has scored eight goals for League Two challengers Mansfield but will he join Aston Villa in the January transfer window?

CJ Hamilton has been one of the breakout stars of the Football League this season and it seems he has caught the eye of Aston Villa.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Villa have been sending scouts to watch the Mansfield Town ace in recent weeks, and with good reason. Hamilton has scored eight goals and set up seven more in all competitions, firing the Stags to third in the League Two table.
A right winger by trade, the 23-year-old can play anywhere across the front line and even at right-back. So you can see why he would be perfect for Dean Smith, a manager renowned for turning rough diamonds into gleaming jewels.
But, the Birmingham Mail adds, Villa are unlikely to make a move for Hamilton before the end of this month.

And this might have something to do with the fact that the Villans re-called Andre Green from his loan spell at League One leaders Portsmouth earlier this month.
Green, who scored Pompey’s winner in their shock FA Cup victory against Norwich City, came off the bench on Saturday and impressed as Villa came from two goals down to salvage a draw with Hull.
