Yannick Ferriera Carrasco will need to accept a massive pay cut if he wants to leave Dalian Yifang for Premier League powerhouses Arsenal.

Arsenal are still keen to rescue Yannick Ferreira Carrasco from his China purgatory but could struggle to meet his mammoth wage demands, according to the Express.
The versatile Belgian international is understood to be one of the top targets on Unai Emery’s wish list with the 25-year-old struggling to adapt to life in the Far East, 12 months after his big-money move from Atletico Madrid.
The Express reports that Arsenal were keen to sign him in January but a deal fell through as they could not agree a loan fee with Carrasco’s current employers, Dalian Yifang.
The report adds that the Gunners would still love to bring the former Monaco winger to the Emirates Stadium once the summer transfer window begins. But he will have to take a substantial pay cut. He is being handed a staggering £8.8 million a year in China.

Considering that Unai Emery has only £40 million to spend this summer, with money tight in North London, it remains to be seen whether a deal for Carrasco is possible.
A direct and skilful player who carries the ball with real style, Carrasco only impressed in fits and bursts at Atletico Madrid, but better players than him have fallen by the wayside under the ultra-demanding Diego Simeone.
