Andre Gomes has shone in the Premier League with Everton and Unai Emery’s Arsenal are reportedly keen to sign the Barcelona flop too.

Arsenal are hoping to sign Andre Gomes when his loan spell at Everton comes to an end, according to ESPN.
After a protracted transfer saga, Gomes moved to Goodison Park last summer following two miserable seasons at Barcelona and he quickly regained his confidence and class in the famous blue shirt.
The Portuguese international looks a different player from the one who struggled to string two passes together at the Camp Nou, dominating the centre of the park with his mix of power and technique.
Needless to say, Everton would love to sign Gomes permanently Barca willing to accept offers of around £26 million.
The Merseyside giants are likely to face competition though with Arsenal looking to hi-jack a deal for the 2016 European Championship winner.

ESPN adds that Gunners coach Unai Emery wanted to sign Gomes before he joined Everton on deadline day in August 2018 while director of football Raul Sanllehi, who was instrumental to the 25-year-old’s move to Barcelona three years ago, is also keen on a reunion.
Arsenal’s interest will surely have been piqued by Gomes’ performance in their 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park recently. The former Benfica starlet produced a wonderful midfield display in a game decided by a Phil Jagielka goal.
