Arsenal have joined the race to sign Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell in the summer but the Foxes won’t let him go without a fight, as reported by the Daily Star.

Chilwell has been one of the most coveted young players in English football for a number of years, with clubs keen to snap him up even before he had made his mark in Leicester’s first-team.

The Standard reports that Arsene Wenger had made a bid of £3 million back in 2015.

While eyebrows were raised back then about the huge interest in a little-known teenager, the fact that Chilwell is a man in demand right now should come as no surprise.

The Leicester academy graduate has arguably been the Premier League’s best left-back this season while establishing himself as an England international.

As a result, the Star reports that Arsenal have renewed their interest, with long-serving Nacho Monreal expected to leave when his contract expires in July. Liverpool and Manchester City are also circling.

But Leicester are determined to stand firm and reject offers for their star men, including Harry Maguire and James Maddison.

Owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha and manager Brendan Rodgers want to turn the Foxes into a top-six club and keeping the £40 million-rated Chilwell and co is obviously a must.
