Cagliari’s Serie A star Nicolo Barella is reportedly emerging as one of Arsenal’s top targets as the Premier League side look to replace Aaron Ramsey.

Arsenal sent scouts to watch Nicolo Barella for the third time this season as Cagliari hosted Juventus in Tuesday night’s Serie A clash, as reported by the Mirror.
The Italian midfielder has shot to fame with a series of dynamic performances during the 2018/19 campaign, forcing his way into Roberto Mancini’s national team plans as a result with the Azzurri looking to reign in a new generation of young talents.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal are keen to bring Barella to the Emirates, perhaps as a replacement for the Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey, though Chelsea, Napoli and AC Milan are also interested.
And it seems the Gunners made further checks on the 22-year-old in midweek.
They sent scouts to watch Barella in action against runaway league leaders Juventus on Tuesday but his Cagliari side were beaten 2-0 by Max Allegri’s team with the wonder-kid Moise Kean on target yet again.

The report adds that Cagliari want £43 million for their prize asset but Arsenal’s hopes of signing the dynamic midfielder rest upon whether Emery can lead them back to the Champions League this season.
A 2-0 win against Newcastle United on Monday means they are third with seven games to go.
