Nicolas Tagliafico has shone in the Eredivisie with Ajax and could reportedly join Unai Emery’s Arsenal revolution in the Premier League.

On paper, left-back might not be one position that Arsenal clearly need to strengthen. Unai Emery can call upon Nacho Monreal, Sead Kolasinac and the versatile Ainsley Maitland-Niles, after all.
But reports in Italy are suggesting that the Gunners could still look to reinforce the left side of their back line in the January transfer window.
Calciomercato claims that Arsenal have set their sights on signing the Ajax flyer Nicolas Tagliafico; an Argentine international who has shone in the Amsterdam giants’ best start to an Eredivisie season for nine years.
The 26-year-old has been Ajax’s first-choice left-back since he arrived from Independiente nine months ago and has played 15 games in all competitions this season, scoring a brace against AEK Athens in the Champions League.
The attack-minded Tagliafico could be available for a bargain fee, too, with The Chronicle reporting that Ajax value him at just £8 million.
The ten-time international is something of a shock target for Emery, but the links could have something to do with the fact that both Maitland-Niles and Kolasinac have suffered from injuries in the opening weeks of the season.
