Ramires, who is named after the former Chelsea star, could potentially be on his way to the Premier League with Unai Emery’s Arsenal.

Arsenal sent scouts to watch Bahia starlet Ramires last week with the Brazilian wonder kid potentially on his way to the Premier League this summer, as reported by Fox Sports.

Eric dos Santos Rodrigues, an 18-year-old midfielder who takes his name from the former Chelsea star Ramires, has been on the Gunners’ radar for a few months now and it seems that they are stepping up their interest with the summer transfer window on the horizon.

The Brazil U20 international, who became the first player born in the 21st century to represent Bahia back in September, is expected to make the move to Europe in the near future.

And Fox claims that Arsenal sent scouts to run the rule over Ramires once again last week, as they weigh up whether or not to pay his £8.5 million price-tag.

Ramires might not be the sort of elite, game-changing signing the Arsenal fans are dreaming of.

But it is worth mentioning that few in North London had heard of fellow midfielders Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira before they arrived at the Emirates last year.
