Shkodran Mustafi has barely looked like a £35million defender in his three years in the Premier League with Arsenal.

Arsenal will do all they can to sell Shkodran Mustafi this summer and are confident that they can still get a decent fee for the much-maligned centre-back, according to Football London.
A 2014 World Cup winner with Germany, big things were expected of Mustafi when he arrived at The Emirates three years ago; the North London giants deciding to trigger the £35 million release-clause in his contract at Valencia, according to the BBC.
But it quickly became clear that Mustafi was not the answer to Arsenal’s defensive problems and, heading towards the end of his third season at the club, it would not be an exaggeration to say he has become a scapegoat among some supporters.
The one-time Everton youngster was arguably at fault for all three goals in Sunday’s shock home defeat to Crystal Palace and it seems that could be the last straw.

Football London claims that Arsenal are desperate to sell the 27-year-old and believe that they can still recoup much of their £35 million investment, though it might be hard to move Mustafi on given the size of his contract.
The publication adds that Arsenal tried to get rid of him last summer too, only to be left frustrated by a lack of buyers.
