David Neres is expected to leave Champions League quarter-finalists Ajax with a move to the Premier League, via Arsenal, a real possibility.

Arsenal have held talks with David Neres as interest continues to rise in the Ajax forward, as reported by the Telegraph.

Neres has been in exceptional form since the turn of the year and scored his 12th goal of the season in some style on Tuesday night, curling home a wicked strike to secure a draw in the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Juventus.

This followed on from similarly influential performances in impressive victories over Real Madrid and PSV, not to mention a superb display off the bench on his Brazil debut in a 3-1 win against the Czech Republic in March.

The Telegraph is reporting that Arsenal are in pole position to sign the 22-year-old, having held talks with his representatives.

The report adds that Neres is expected to leave Ajax this summer, so long as someone meets the Eredivisie giants’ £34.5 million price-tag.

The report adds that Everton have also been in touch while Manchester United and Chelsea are continuing to monitor his performances for the Amsterdam outfit.

But with Unai Emery looking for a goal-scoring winger, Neres looks the perfect fit.
