La Liga outfit Espanyol will reportedly accept £18m for Spain international Mario Hermoso, who is allegedly liked by Premier League giants Arsenal.

Arsenal are facing a battle with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich to sign Spanish international Mario Hermoso this summer with Sport claiming that Espanyol are willing to listen to offers of £18 million.

After conceding 51 goals in the Premier League across 2018/19, a record that cost The Gunners a place in the top four, Unai Emery has made signing a top quality centre-back one of his main priorities over the summer.

And Hermoso, a former Real Madrid youngster who has emerged as one of La Liga’s most reliable defenders since moving to Catalonia in 2017, appears to be on name on Arsenal’s radar.

A confident ball-playing centre-half who has replaced Gerard Pique in Spain’s starting XI over the last few months, Hermoso has a £35 million release clause in his contract but Espanyol are ready to accept a cut-price bid of just £18 million.

And Arsenal are not the only club who have expressed an interest. Bayern and PSG are on the lookout for long-term successors for Jerome Boateng and Thiago Silva and it seems they too are very interested in 23-year-old Hermoso.

Another potential problem is that Real Madrid have the option to re-sign Hermoso for £6 million.
