Eagle-eyed Nottingham Forest fans will not be surprised at all to learn that Andreas Bouchalakis is being tipped to leave the City Ground this summer.

Just two days ago, the Greek midfielder was pictured training with former club Olympiakos after five months of barely featuring under Aitor Karanka in the Championship.

So reports in the Nottingham Post that Bouchalakis is now set to leave after just one season in England were to be expected. The 25-year-old moved to Forest from Olympiakos 12 months ago, signing a three-year deal, but it is understood that he will now be transferred back to the Greek giants.

The Nottingham Post claimed that Karanka plans to bring in a hefty number of new players so some will have to be sacrificed to make room. Bouchalakis appears to be the first victim of this summer cull.

In truth, the writing was on the wall when Bouchalakis found himself well down the pecking order after Karanka replaced Mark Warburton at the turn of the year. The former Greece U21 international featured in just two Championship games under the former Middlesbrough manager.

That said, Bouchalakis will always be remembered by fans for his stunning debut in August 2016 in which he scored twice, including one long-range stunner, in a 4-3 win away to Brentford.
